Rachelle Smith explored the vibrant and cheery contemporary art of James Rizzi (powerpoint here) with the sixth graders in this fun lesson. Using some simple drawing tips explained in the slideshow, Rachelle asked the kids to draw either people or buildings using bold lines and bright colors. The kids used pastels to draw their pictures, and then filled in with watercolors.
